Rachetto To Kuranku - More Hopes For A Ratchet & Clank Anime

Minasan, Kon’nichiwa! It has been a year since the release of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, also known as “Ratchet & Clank: Parallel Trouble” in Japan for the PlayStation 5 [15] [24] [32] [42], along with the non-canon animated short from Mainframe Studios and PlayStation Originals titled “Ratchet & Clank: Life of Pie” [17] [42]. It has also been three years since we discussed what to expect in an official anime series starring the adventurous lombax and his robotic sidekick, from a stunningly galactic anime art style to thrilling action scenes to humourous moments within trustworthy portrayals of the main and supporting characters [49] [50]. Reflecting on the undeniable impact Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has had on our fellow PlayStation players and the notable differences in marketing the older games in Japan [6] [32] [42], along with the passable outcome of the non-canon short [17] [42], I still believe an official Rachetto To Kuranku anime series can be acclaimed [49] [50], but with specific aspects to honour the new era of the franchise. It sure is a bummer that there is no sequel to the Ratchet & Clank movie that could have been produced to promote Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart [26] [42], but an exceptional anime can be possibly set after its events can enrich the franchise’s new era [49] [50].
I know it is more likely that there will be a CGI television series starring Ratchet and Clank [17] [31], along with Rivet and Kit [34] [42], but I thought my article on what to expect in an anime based on the franchise could use a follow-up. While plenty of PC players are swinging from webs with Peter Parker in the remaster of another masterpiece from Insomniac Games for Microsoft Windows [14] [19] [22], let us expand on how an official Rachetto To Kuranku anime can excel in the near future of the franchise. Oh! And Happy 20th Anniversary to the franchise [37]! [15]
The plot of the anime ought to be engaging with plenty of quirky moments [49] [50]. The Ratchet & Clank manga that began with the first volume in late 2005 and continued with a second volume in early 2008 was titled “Ratchet & Clank: Bang Bang Bang! Critical Danger of the Galaxy Legend” [30]. Although the manga had some promising potential with its unique stories that increase its individuality in the franchise, despite how it is not fully recommendable to all readers in terms of its humour and fanmade translations [25], an official anime series ought to be up to date with a lot of elements from Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart [24] [32] [42] Besides, Clank’s replacement arm from its ending credits looks pretty good on him. This includes the rather risky ambition of travelling to alternate universes, which is what Sonic the Hedgehog is yet to experience in terms of new character development in the outcome of Sonic Prime on Netflix [51] [52]. Aside from the premise of the anime being set sometime after Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart [24] 32[ [42], there might as well also be a new manga series in association with it as well that will also be released outside of Japan for curious Western fans [30] [49] [50].
The first volume of Ratchet & Clank: Bang Bang Bang! Critical Danger of the Galaxy Legend. [30]
Aside from some faithful portrayals of Ratchet, Clank and Captain Qwark, there ought to be some new exploration for Talwyn Apogee as she makes a return in the ending credits of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart [32] [36]. Despite how I believe the grand return of Courtney Gears from Ratchet and Clank 3 singing a new song in an anime style that would make Hatsune Miku eat her heart out would be undeniable [12] [39] [49] [50], I believe there ought to be some new focus on Rivet and Kat from Ratchet & Clank: Parallel Trouble in the anime, especially some new adventurous moments when they work together as a team to honour the success of the franchise’s new chapter that began on the PlayStation 5 [32] [34] [42]. On the other bomb glove, it would be nice to see an old ally finally return, such as Angela Cross and Sasha Phyronix [38] [39]. Lastly, in terms of proactivity, perhaps for some brand new characters who could also be lombaxes, there can be an official gay or lesbian relationship in honour of equality and positive representation, repelling closed-minded prejudice [10] [13] [43] [46]. Besides, male sims can get pregnant and have an alien baby in The Sims 2 as Pascal Curious is the premade example of that in Strangetown [3].
Surely, Ratchet has to find the rest of the lombax race sometime, especially after his alliance with Alister Azimuth in Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time [41]. However, I suppose that moment ought to be saved for the next main game [32] [42]. Moreover, an official same-sex relationship between two new lombaxes in an official anime series can provide a little more build-up for that long-term goal. [32]
Aside from bringing back a portion of Ratchet’s sass from Ratchet & Clank: Life Of Pie to make his character more balanced [16], how about the return of Secret Agent Clank with his new arm [32] [35] [42] [49] [50]? I wonder who Sasha is dating these days [39], considering Talwyn has been considered Ratchet’s current love interest since Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction [36]. [28]
Any other expectations for an official anime’s animation apart from possibly making Ratchet’s eyebrows coal-black and incredibly bushy [8] [49] [50]? Well, as previously mentioned, Clank ought to consist of his replacement arm if the anime were to be set after the events of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart [32] [42]. I do no doubt that the endless void of stars either Ratchet or Rivet will steadily soar through in a spaceship would be beautiful with perhaps a few shooting stars passing by. And not to mention that some new planets in perhaps some new dimensions ought to be richly detailed with different tones and environments, such as a wintery wasteland and a tropical paradiseAnd yes, there would indeed be a wide variety of characters expressing their emotions like an anime character would do, such as a large sweat drop at the side of the head during nervousness and the anger symbol known as “cross-popping veins” pumping during fury [2]. As for Ratchet’s eyebrows, it seems unlikely that his eyebrows will be black and bushy due to how the specific change was absent in the Japanese version of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart known as “Ratchet & Clank: Parallel Trouble” [24], which is fine by me as I have always preferred his regular light brown ones.
The art style in the ending credits of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is adorable, but there still ought to be a striking manga style for an official anime series with the flow of the animation in the Western advert for the first-ever game [49] [50]. [32]
Again, those crazy eyebrows… [28]
Even though PlayStation has reportedly lost a fraction of its popularity in Japan [9], a Rachetto To Kuranku anime could help boost its cred in Japanese marketing again [49] [50]. Otherwise, there can be an official Crash Bandicoot anime with Crash in the Japanese design to bring back the kawaii cred he had since his debut in Japan back in 1996 and make up for the possible cancellation of his cartoon that only had two pilots [1] [4] [6] [7] [55]. To those who would prefer to read new Western comic books, reload your pistols and sharpen your katanas for Deadpool #1 this November [18] [53] [54]. As for gaming and anime, I hope some Sonic supporters have enjoyed Sonic’s Adventure in Bean Hill Zone in Fall Guys and there have been some critically acclaimed anime shows on the air recently, including the second season of The Devil Is A Part Timer and the fourth season of Overlord [20] [24] [46]. Plenty of fellow gamers out there are still yearning for an anime based on the Tomb Raider franchise, including yours truly [44] [47] [48]. Could your power level in Fortnite be over nine thousand with its collaboration with Dragon Ball [11] [16]? Who knows what will be next for Ratchet & Clank, whether it will be an official anime series or not?
The exclusive marketing of Ratchet & Clank and Crash Bandicoot games in Japan were highly similar back in the days [4] [8] [49] [50]. But what is more important than a character’s altered design is their portrayal within the outcome of a new addition to a franchise. [4]
Again, I am not saying the idea of a Rachetto To Kuranku anime will definitely happen, but there can always be hope for a reimagining of Ratchet & Clank: Locked and Loaded as a sequel to the reimagining of the first game [26] [37] [38] [40]. In the meantime, I believe that I can still be happy to be a fan of Helluva Boss [5]. I guess I ought to get ready for an assignment with Mr. Wade Wilson and his new mascot and mentor now [21]. Sayonara, loyal lombaxes and robotic rangers! [33]

Netflix Have Announced The Development Of A Tomb Raider Anime

It has been announced that an anime series based on the Tomb Raider reboot timeline will be in development [15] [20] [39]. I never thought an article I wrote about what we ought to expect from such a concept back in Spring 2019 would lead to a successful prediction [39] [42] [43]! As amazed and honourably surprised I am to have predicted the near future so ironically, I am still quite concerned about how much the final outcome can honour the legacy of the reboot that began in 2013, along with how they will still some strong hope that it will not be suddenly cancelled like the forthcoming Crash Bandicoot cartoon after us fellow bandicoots only saw two versions of its pilot [16] [44]. But who knows? A Crash Bandicoot anime that features Crash in his Japanese design and his sister Coco with brown eyes might make up for that cartoon’s cancellation someday since he managed to be popular to both North American and Japanese players [1] [3]. But as for Lara Croft, will the suggestions I made for it almost two years ago be taken into consideration? Let us reflect on them once again with some Jaffa Cakes to snack on [42] [43], shall we?

Hey! Laura from 2019! You have been partly proven wrong! We will have to delay the archery session for another time though. [41]

Although I am very happy that one of my own imagined concepts, I described back in Spring 2019 is about to come true [42] [43], I swear that I do not have precognition! Nevertheless, let us look back on what I have suggested to make such an idea successful. [35]

Apparently, the first-ever official anime starring the beautiful and intelligent fugitive will be set sometime after the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raider [20]. I believe that this is a good move as a complete retelling of the trilogy’s events with several differences would be rather unnecessary. Besides, there is already an enjoyable live-action movie based on the first game that stars Alicia Vikander as Lara with some notable differences [30]. Surely there will not even be anything that slightly contradicts the events of the comic book series from Dark Horse comics that are expansions of the reboot trilogy’s timeline if the considerations for preventing plot holes are top-notch [34]. Well, unless there might be at least one major contradiction that would least to the anime series being ultimately considered non-canon, which would be quite similar to how certain aspects of Toy Story Treats, also known as “Toy Story Shorts” caused them to be referred to as non-canon [18]. Could the events of the anime series that take place after the events of the second reboot trilogy within the Tomb Raider franchise lead to the younger Lara we know and love today evolving even further into the classic Lara we adored back then [13]?

Surely the Legend era technically counts as the first reboot trilogy due to a reimagining of Lara’s youth being featured in Tomb Raider Legend [32], even though Tomb Raider Anniversary is a remake of the first-ever game from the classic timeline [9]. But considering how that timeline seems to coexist with the Survivor timeline, I am pretty sure that there will be some comparisons between the anime associated with the second reboot that was established in the 2010s and the first three or fifth and sixth episodes of the animated series that was released in 2007. [33]

Since the upcoming chapter of Lara’s life within the Survivor timeline will be an anime, it can be suspected that it will firstly be available on Netflix in Japan. After all, the artistry and genres of anime come from Japan. I am aware that not all establishments of video game franchises from the West have ended up being as successful in Japan since the Japanese version of the first Spyro the Dragon game featured a fixed position for the camera that caused the gameplay outside of the flying sections to be less enjoyable, despite how it was only there to prevent Japanese players from feeling motion sick [7] [14]. Nevertheless, there were specific changes in the Japanese releases of the older Tomb Raider games that resulted in a reasonably easier difficulty, making the franchise quite successful in Japan too [8]. Furthermore, the premise and outcome of all episodes of the forthcoming Tomb Raider anime ought to be outstanding for both Japanese and Western viewers after both the Japanese dub and the English dub are established, along with a few other language dubs, such as a French dub for its airing in parts of Canada.

As much as I am up for an incredible anime series that takes place shortly after a reboot trilogy starring Lara Croft, I would also be up for a Japanese release of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy that features the loveable purple dragon striding and flying slower and the option to play with the camera in a fixed position or gently following his path without causing any motion blur to prevent the player from feeling motion sick [4] [14], along with a pair of black and beady eyes to make him look a little cuter and a rehash of the Pocket Station minigame [7] [24]. [25]
No matter which language dub the anime will be heard in, there will still be strong hope that we will once again witness the incredible self-empowerment of Lara Croft. [35]

When it comes to providing an engaging plot, it is imperative that an anime series set after the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raider ought to consist of:

  •        A rather bleak adventure that awaits a courageous archaeologist [26] [27] [31]
  •        Violence against fiends [27]
  •        Female empowerment [9] [31]

Providing those elements within outstanding writing is sure to make the anime series honourable to the plots and gameplay that made the Survivor trilogy a triple acclaim in the 2010s. Despite hentai being banned in Australia in late 2020 [2], a new Tomb Raider anime series on Netflix ought to further prove that not all anime is kid-friendly, despite how the Japanese version of the anime could feature not as much blood and gore as the Western creation as that censorship occurred for the Japanese releases of Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Resident Evil 7 [5] [6]. However, there have been many violent and gory anime series throughout the years, such as Genocyber, Another and Berserk [36]. But ultimately, what will be more important than the amount of blood and violence is how closer the young Lara who started out as a frightened survivor in the reboot will get to becoming an iconic archaeologist who wears sunglasses and only plays for sport throughout every episode [13].

An anime that is set after the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raider might as well to classified as a horror anime due to the unnerving aspects of dangerous journeys in the trilogy [20] [27], including many gruesome deaths that could happen to Lara in the first game – Happy Tree Friends style [26] [28] [42] [43]. [34]

As I stated before almost two years ago, we would expect a stunning art style with remarkable and piercing brown eyes for Croft’s elegant face to consist of in an anime series [42] [43]. Apart from that, there also ought to be gritty and detailed colour palettes within specific locations that are quite similar to the likes of the outdoor scenes in Hulk vs. Wolverine [23]. Additionally, excellent research would need to be done first if any of these locations shall be set in specific countries. For example, an ancient castle in Wales would be a refreshing setting for tomb raiding [12]. Reflecting on my claim that there might not be as much blood in an anime that takes place after Shadow of the Tomb Raider despite how there are plenty of violent anime series that consist of gory moments [36], there is a possibility of heavy amounts of blood being present in the anime anyway since intensely bloody moments seem to have been given a free pass in anime, but not in modern video games with life-like 3D graphics [5] [6]. For now, we shall wait for the official trailer for the Tomb Raider anime to be released before we can potentially critique it, including yours truly.

Surely the overall art style of the forthcoming anime series will be a rehash of Keys to the Kingdom. [33]

I honestly cannot believe that one of my own imagined concepts for a popular video game franchise is yet to become a reality [39] [42] [43]! What will be next? An anime series that will take place after the events of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart [19] [40] [41]? Or perhaps a Japanese release of a new Spyro game that will make up for how a well-intentioned change to the Japanese release of the first one backfired [7] [14]? I would be more than thrilled to watch the Tomb Raider anime series on Netflix with my boyfriend once it is complete and ready to be viewed through streaming. I am up for Netflix’s services still running to this day, as long as they do not make the same big mistake again by rejecting a disgusting and irredeemable concept that is highly similar to the premise of Cuties since that film deserved the backlash it received for its paedophilic elements [10] [11] [17] [21]. On a lighter note, I still hope to see the second season of the masterful animated series based on Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss and an anime series starring one of my favourite video game characters that could lead to a new trilogy someday [37] [38].

Do us a big favour, Netflix. We will be very happy to see a Tomb Raider anime soon, but please. NEVER…EVER…allow a film with such a sickening and deplorable concept like Cuties to be viewed within your services again [11]! For future reference, please ensure that a yet to be released movie with a similar premise only features young female dancers who are eighteen years old or over! [22]
As for my fellow tomb raiders and I, we all wish Ms. Croft and her legacy as a strong and independent woman a very happy 25th anniversary [30], along with the best of luck in her new anime series that will be available on Netflix after plenty of hard work and dedication from its creative team. [24]

Could Sonic The Hedgehog Be In A New Anime Series?

Minasan, kon’nichiwa. Last year, I have theorised what would make an anime series based on a video game franchise, such as Ratchet and Clank and Tomb Raider exceptional and faithful to its legacy [53] [54] [55] [56] [57] [58]. Since anime and Sonic the Hedgehog both originated from Japan [15] [39], why not establish another Sonic anime series someday [19] [59] [60]? As someone who adores the artistry of anime [15] [61], I believe that a third anime series for television could boost his cred at some point in the rest of the 2020s after the ironic acclaim of the live-action movie that I enjoyed watching with my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day before England went into a lockdown [52] [45]. Of course, the first anime series based on Sonic the Hedgehog was two episodes that were basically two parts of a movie back in 1996 and the second anime was rather iconic back in the mid-2000s [34] [40] [41]. Even though I have decided to stop being a fan of the series back in Summer 2015 due to how I have often found specific parts of the fandom to be problematic [9] [10] [11] [32] [51], I shall elaborate on what elements can honour the blue dude’s legacy in a new anime series in the future.

Although there are some gamers and reviewers out there who still believe that the Sonic franchise should just simply end [13], there can always still be some potential for how the blue blur’s legacy can remain fresh in new interactive instalments and such [33]. [42]

A legitimate reason for Sonic and his friends to star in another anime series would be the acclaim of other kinds of animated projects that starred them, such as the two parts of Team Sonic Racing Overdrive that were uploaded onto YouTube in early 2019 [43], but how can it excel, thus making some fans shed tears of joy [19]? [44]
As previously mentioned in the conclusion of our discussion on how a Tomb Raider game without guns could at least be a refreshing experiment [59] [60], another anime series based on Sonic the Hedgehog ought to be not an unnecessary continuation of Sonic X [1] [34], but be set in a new timeline for the current primary target audience of today. It would not be necessary to base it on Sonic Boom since there was already an animated television series that takes place after the two Sonic Boom games that were negatively received and sold poorly [31] [32] [36] [37] [38] [76]. Since the events of the second season Sonic X were adapted from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 [41], I suppose a brand new series could be briefly based on Sonic Generations since that was the game that helped celebrate the speedy rodent’s 20th anniversary back in 2011 and his 30th anniversary is to be celebrated in 2021 [24] [27] [33]. Alternatively, it can be loosely adapted from the game made to celebrate the forthcoming 30th anniversary. I suppose there could be a whole new origin in a new Sonic anime, similar to how the surprisingly successful live-action movie featured a new origin for the speedy dude with attitude [45].

I suppose some aspects of a new Sonic anime can be adapted from Sonic Colours as that instalment was a hit back in late 2010 [26]. [29]

But more realistically, an anime series starring Sonic in the mid-2020s should be based on whatever will celebrate his 30th anniversary in 2021 [33], though one aspect could possibly be an HD re-release of Sonic Colours [26]. [24]
As well as a refreshing and convening premise, there also ought to be a highly consistent art style, much like the art style of Sonic X [1] [2] [30]. It ought to consist of colours that are vibrant, but not too saturated. The backgrounds should consist of highly convincing detail to capture vibes of realism, quite like in the locations shown in an anime film that was released in 2016 called “Your Name” [61]. The large variety of colour palettes put into the art style of Sonic X were vibrant and the effort put into the details of the settings were exceptional. The scene where Sonic cheers up Amy Rose by giving her a flower was visually stunning and very memorable for many SonAmy fans out there [2] [30]. Since Sonic X was unfortunate to fall into the clutches of an insane amount of censorship performed by 4kids Entertainment for young Western audiences from 2003 to 2006 [20] [34] [41], at least the same mistake shall not happen again for airing the English dub of its spiritual successor since we hardly ever hear about 4kids anymore after they lost the license to air any Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh anime [6] [50].

Even though I understand that some censoring can be somewhat legitimate, a new Sonic the Hedgehog anime should be free from editing that can be seen as rather patronising, puzzling, degrading or just plain unnecessary [6] [7] [8] [50]. [20]
Apart from that, notice how well-detailed the trees are here, along with the convincing fog effect? That sort of quality of art should return in a new Sonic anime for possibly the mid-2020s. [42]
Who should voice the blue blur for the English dub? We would expect Roger Craig Smith to reprise his most iconic role for a new anime based on his legacy by now as he had been voicing him since the establishment of Sonic Spinball at Alton Towers Resort [22] [35]. Alternatively, Ben Schwartz could do the honours as he portrayed Sonic brilliantly in the live-action movie [45]. If the other main characters from the Sonic series ought to appear in a new anime series, chances are the cast will be like:

  •        Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower [31] [35]
  •        Cindy Robinson as Amy Rose [31] [35]
  •        Dave Mitchell as Knuckles the Echidna [28] [35]
  •        Mike Pollock as Dr. Eggman [29] [31] [35]
  •        Erica Lindbeck as Blaze the Cat [28] [35]

There may be a strong possibility if the current voice actors and voice actresses for the characters reprising their roles for an English dub, but I suppose there ought to be some brand new voice actors and voice actresses who can give whatever role they are given a shot [16] [17] [18]. As long as the voice acting will suit the characters’ traits, the English dub of a new Sonic anime can be enjoyable. The same can apply to other language dubs, such as a French dub [30] [49].

Realistically, the official Japanese dub of a new Sonic anime would be established first [3]. Furthermore, it can lead to hopes for exceptional performances by voice actors and voice actresses for other dubs. [42]
Dubs, dubs everywhere [21]. [49]
I suppose there may still be another Sonic the Hedgehog anime at some point in the future of Japanese animation, whether my boyfriend and I still find the fandom to be toxic or not [9] [10] [11] [32] [51]. While I am aware that not all Sonic supporters are potentially lethal, I believe that such a concept should have a brilliant outcome with an interesting premise, a pleasing art style and exceptional voice acting. Alternatively, there can be an official anime series based on The Legend of Zelda airing at some point in the rest of the 2020s [12]. Please excuse me for that suggestion, princes and princesses [14]. I personally enjoy discussing ideas for new and refreshing establishments of video game franchises as it helps maintain my proactivity and expands on my creative thinking to a degree. While some of you Sonic supporters out there may agree with my explanations on how Sonic can excel in the aesthetics of anime again, plenty of Tama-caretakers and fellow kitties are going to love the forthcoming Hello Kitty-themed Tamagotchi that will mark another time that Hello Kitty has collaborated with Tamagotchi since she was featured in a colourful crossover with various Tamagotchi and Sanrio characters [4] [5] [25] [47] [48]. Gotta juice [23]!

It is official! I ship Hello Kitty with Memetchi now! [25]

Speaking of ship, the progress of developing a new Sonic the Hedgehog anime should hopefully be like a safe and steady trip on a cruise. Please excuse the rather corny simile, folks. Stay way past cool [46]! [1]
