Captain Pikachu’s Stardom Set To Sail In A New Pokémon Anime

Ever since Ash Ketchum’s dream of becoming a Pokémon World Champion came true [28], many Poké players have wondered what could be next in the ninth generation of the franchise. It turns out that the next big step in the anime series is to establish a whole new journey with two brand new characters. I believe that this is a wise creative decision as I do not see the point of continuing Ash’s journey, especially if he is not ever going to turn eleven [26] [37] [40]. However, the biggest concern would be the possibility of the anime series jumping the Magikarp for making the next season seem too different from the other anime seasons because of this decision. As an admirer of the Pokémon franchise who personally knows a few Poké players outside of social media and fondly remembers the days of My Pokémon Ranch [21], I am honoured to discuss my hopes for a new season of the Pokémon anime series introducing two new characters that will firstly air in Japan this April during the time my manicure is a vague reminder of Wayne Cramp from The Cramp Twins and Disgust from Inside Out [9] [19] [38] [42]. 

I adore the English theme song for Pokémon Ultimate Journeys [39]. Who knows how motivating the English theme song for the next anime season will be [1]? [9]

Ash’s Pikachu will be out of the spotlight in favour of a new one [27]. To provide some individuality for the forthcoming anime season, the new Pikachu wearing a captain’s cap ought to consist of a few notable personality differences, compared to Ash’s Pikachu and Pikachu Libre [18] [34]. An example of this could be a bigger appetite for adventure, especially across the Paldean seas. You can tell by his pose in the revealed artwork of him [27]. Moreover, how successful will he be in the battles he and his companion will participate in?

What can I say about Friede, Captain Pikachu’s companion [3] [27]? It has been confirmed that he will be a new Pokémon professor. Within a supporting role as a professor, he ought to be friendly and helpful, like Professor Oak who could also make an appearance in the forthcoming anime [10] [22]. Friede ought to not be as forgetful as him though [10]. As previously stated, he could be the captain of his own boat across the Paldean seas, which would explain why his Pikachu often wears a captain’s cap [8] [16]. How will Friede be compared to all the other professors who have made an appearance throughout the series, along with Harry Goodman from Detective Pikachuand its live-action film adaption [15] [23]? Regardless of the comparisons, I can already see that he will be supportive of two other new characters on their journey [6] [11].

“He has the potential to be a wise professor.” I reply. [3]

The brand new protagonists of the forthcoming anime series are Liko and Roy [6] [11]. It is likely that they could have the same aspirations of Ash, being the best like no one ever was [1], but they ought to consist of notable traits that do not make them a carbon copy of him and Misty [25]. Aside from training the Pokémon they start with, I wonder which badges and ribbons could they earn. I also wonder what friendships they could develop with other new Pokémon trainers, along with a Nurse Joy and an Officer Jenny who are likely to receive another redesign each for the anime series set in Paldea [5] [7], as well as their rivalries with those who would be more competitive and less friendly. There ought to be an enlightening adaption of Paldea in the forthcoming anime season, the region that the ninth generation of the Pokémon franchise is set in [8] [16]. There also ought to be loveable portrayals of the newest Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violetin the anime co-starring Captain Pikachu, especially the three starters; Sprigatito, Quaxley and Fueoco [13] [36]. Oh! And did I mention that the Titan Pokémon ought to make an appearance too [12]? Perhaps there could also be some historical references to Hisui, the region that is basically an interpretation of Sinnoh set in the past during the events of Pokémon Legends: Arceus [4]. Aside from a stunning anime version of Paldea, there might as well be some small changes throughout Friede and Captain Pikachu’s adventure to make the anime stand out on its own whilst ensuring that it will still be faithful to the games, which has done quite a lot of times throughout the anime series’ history [2]. After all, there were several differences between Cuphead and The Cuphead Show, the animated series based on the game [41]. Even though our dear old schoolers still miss the simpler days of catching 151 Pokémon in Kanto [22], there is new potential set in Paldea in honour of proactivity in the ninth generation. 

Paldea is partially based on Spain, which makes it seem like a great place for a vacation [16]. Trust me, I know from experience. [8]

In conclusion, a brand new story after twenty-six years of Ash Ketchum’s long road to success has the potential to honour the success of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violetthis April with a new cast of main characters to not only provide some individuality but leave Ash’s journey at where it seemingly ended to prevent it from going stale [16] [28]. It will be quite difficult to get used to a new Pokémon anime series without Ash but let us not knock it until we tried watching it. But before a new adventure with Liko and Roy can begin [6] [9] [11], especially for new and younger Poké players, they, along with older and more experienced Poké players can tune into the second part of the official English dub of Pokémon Ultimate Journey on Netflix [26] [40]. It will not be long until our loyal Nintendo nerds can watch the final trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer and our dear DC comrades will serve justice in DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos [14] [24]. As for the Pokémon anime series, more information about the chapter afterwards will be revealed soon before it airs in Japan, so stay tuned, Poké players [9]! Could Sonic The Hedgehog Be In A New Anime Series?

Last year, I have theorised what would make an anime series based on a video game franchise, such as Ratchet and Clank and Tomb Raider exceptional and faithful to its legacy [53] [54] [55] [56] [57] [58]. Since anime and Sonic the Hedgehog both originated from Japan [15] [39], why not establish another Sonic anime series someday [19] [59] [60]? As someone who adores the artistry of anime [15] [61], I believe that a third anime series for television could boost his cred at some point in the rest of the 2020s after the ironic acclaim of the live-action movie that I enjoyed watching with my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day before England went into a lockdown [52] [45]. Of course, the first anime series based on Sonic the Hedgehog was two episodes that were basically two parts of a movie back in 1996 and the second anime was rather iconic back in the mid-2000s [34] [40] [41]. Even though I have decided to stop being a fan of the series back in Summer 2015 due to how I have often found specific parts of the fandom to be problematic [9] [10] [11] [32] [51], I shall elaborate on what elements can honour the blue dude’s legacy in a new anime series in the future.

Although there are some gamers and reviewers out there who still believe that the Sonic franchise should just simply end [13], there can always still be some potential for how the blue blur’s legacy can remain fresh in new interactive instalments and such [33]. [42]

A legitimate reason for Sonic and his friends to star in another anime series would be the acclaim of other kinds of animated projects that starred them, such as the two parts of Team Sonic Racing Overdrive that were uploaded onto YouTube in early 2019 [43], but how can it excel, thus making some fans shed tears of joy [19]? [44]

As previously mentioned in the conclusion of our discussion on how a Tomb Raider game without guns could at least be a refreshing experiment [59] [60], another anime series based on Sonic the Hedgehog ought to be not an unnecessary continuation of Sonic X [1] [34], but be set in a new timeline for the current primary target audience of today. It would not be necessary to base it on Sonic Boom since there was already an animated television series that takes place after the two Sonic Boom games that were negatively received and sold poorly [31] [32] [36] [37] [38] [76]. Since the events of the second season Sonic X were adapted from Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 [41], I suppose a brand new series could be briefly based on Sonic Generations since that was the game that helped celebrate the speedy rodent’s 20^th anniversary back in 2011 and his 30^th anniversary is to be celebrated in 2021 [24] [27] [33]. But more realistically, an anime series starring Sonic in the mid-2020s should be based on whatever will celebrate his 30th anniversary in 2021 [33], though one aspect could possibly be an HD re-release of Sonic Colours [26]. [24]

As well as a refreshing and convening premise, there also ought to be a highly consistent art style, much like the art style of Sonic X [1] [2] [30]. It ought to consist of colours that are vibrant, but not too saturated. The backgrounds should consist of highly convincing detail to capture vibes of realism, quite like in the locations shown in an anime film that was released in 2016 called “Your Name” [61]. The large variety of colour palettes put into the art style of Sonic X were vibrant and the effort put into the details of the settings were exceptional. Even though I understand that some censoring can be somewhat legitimate, a new Sonic the Hedgehog anime should be free from editing that can be seen as rather patronising, puzzling, degrading or just plain unnecessary [6] [7] [8] [50]. [20]

Apart from that, notice how well-detailed the trees are here, along with the convincing fog effect? That sort of quality of art should return in a new Sonic anime for possibly the mid-2020s. [42]

Who should voice the blue blur for the English dub? We would expect Roger Craig Smith to reprise his most iconic role for a new anime based on his legacy by now as he had been voicing him since the establishment of Sonic Spinball at Alton Towers Resort [22] [35]. Alternatively, Ben Schwartz could do the honours as he portrayed Sonic brilliantly in the live-action movie [45]. If the other main characters from the Sonic series ought to appear in a new anime series, chances are the cast will be like:

•        Cindy Robinson as Amy Rose [31] [35]
•        Dave Mitchell as Knuckles the Echidna [28] [35]

There may be a strong possibility if the current voice actors and voice actresses for the characters reprising their roles for an English dub, but I suppose there ought to be some brand new voice actors and voice actresses who can give whatever role they are given a shot [16] [17] [18]. As long as the voice acting will suit the characters’ traits, the English dub of a new Sonic anime can be enjoyable. The same can apply to other language dubs, such as a French dub [30] [49].

Realistically, the official Japanese dub of a new Sonic anime would be established first [3]. Furthermore, it can lead to hopes for exceptional performances by voice actors and voice actresses for other dubs. [42]

I suppose there may still be another Sonic the Hedgehog anime at some point in the future of Japanese animation, whether my boyfriend and I still find the fandom to be toxic or not [9] [10] [11] [32] [51]. While I am aware that not all Sonic supporters are potentially lethal, I believe that such a concept should have a brilliant outcome with an interesting premise, a pleasing art style and exceptional voice acting. Alternatively, there can be an official anime series based on The Legend of Zelda airing at some point in the rest of the 2020s [12]. I personally enjoy discussing ideas for new and refreshing establishments of video game franchises as it helps maintain my proactivity and expands on my creative thinking to a degree. While some of you Sonic supporters out there may agree with my explanations on how Sonic can excel in the aesthetics of anime again, plenty of Tama-caretakers and fellow kitties are going to love the forthcoming Hello Kitty-themed Tamagotchi that will mark another time that Hello Kitty has collaborated with Tamagotchi since she was featured in a colourful crossover with various Tamagotchi and Sanrio characters [4] [5] [25] [47] [48].
