Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft - An Overdue Anime Adaption Raiding Netflix Soon

Calling all tomb raiders! Plenty of us may miss the 2013 times that were marked as “The Year Of Luigi” and a new origin of Lara Croft [12] [14] [26], but we know that there is still more to look forward to in the second half of 2023 and so on, including the tenth-anniversary celebration of Slender: The Arrival this Halloween season [31] [55], the first issue of Deadpool: Seven Slaughters this November [19], Disney’s Wish this Thanksgiving and a new anime series that has just been teased this week [31] [45]. It has been over a year since the announcement of an anime series based on the Tomb Raider franchise coming to Netflix [28] [49] [50]. By the name of “Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft”, the upcoming anime series has a lot of potential to bring the intelligent brunette bombshell into a new light for anime admirers, starting with its premiere in Japan [41] [42], aside from how the Japanese versions of the classic games’ consisted of reduced difficulty [9]. Rooting for female empowerment outside of women’s sports [16] [21], I shall bear the intensity of the teaser with you as my soul bears the quite unfortunate yet seemingly reasonable delay of Hazbin Hotel that will be available to watch on Amazon Prime in the beginning of 2024 [2] [4] [20].

Hentai would be my least favourite genre of anime, so please do not even think about it [27]! [41]

I know what some Final Fantasy fighters are thinking. Wouldn’t Lara’s appearance in the anime series be like her appearance in War of the Visions Final Fantasy Brave Exvius that bewitched us two years ago [34] [46]? I completely understand where they are coming from! But in this case, I am spellbound at how she will look in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft [41]! Her design is heavily based on her appearance in Shadow of the Tomb Raider [8] [33]. The teaser begins with a rather tense moment of a shot of her holding her bow and arrow gradually sharpening [41]. No pun intended. The following moment shows another example of visual ecstasy as the sound of a heart besting drones on. Most impressively, the moment of her standing determinedly with her bow and arrow returns, focusing on her glare, then directly on the edge of her arrow that gets launched. The reason for the enriching visuals is that the production of the anime is by Powerhouse Animation, the same studio that created the animated series loosely based on the Castlevania franchise [24] [42] [47]. Aside from how remarkable the visuals are in the teaser [41], there will be hope for the series’ writing to excel as well, which might be hinted at in the second trailer that may also feature its exact release date.

Here is the classic incarnation of Lara in an anime style in one of the collaborations she did in honour of the 25^thanniversary of the Tomb Raider franchise back in 2021 [34]. [46]

Eat your heart out, Katniss Everdeen [35] [36] [37] [38]! [41]

Aside from some samples of exceptional animation in the teaser, let us reflect on what I have suggested for making the success of a Tomb Raider anime happen back in 2019 and 2021 [49] [50] [51] [52]. Aside from how Lara’s face in the teaser somehow reminds me of Korra from The Legend of Korra [1], I recall stating that her portrayal ought to be a balance of emotional and empowering [51] [52], no matter which dub the series will be watched in [49] [50]. Her design shown in the teaser hints that the anime series is likely to be based on the third chapter of the Survivor timeline with a few differences at first [41], much like how the live-action film starring Alicia Vikander as Lara is based on the events of the other two chapters [40]. However, it was confirmed that the anime will be set after the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, potentially unifying the Survivor timeline with some adapted aspects of the other two [42], which is much more necessary to me as there has been some questioning when will the Survivor Lara merge into a “classic” incarnation, as hinted in her participation in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call Of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Call Of Duty: Warzone Mobile [30]. Surely, the next trailer will provide some more detail on the premise set sometime after Shadow of the Tomb Raider, including what awaits her during a road trip [41] [42].

There ought to be some new discoveries throughout Croft’s road trip [42]. This majestically surreal occurrence appears to be one of them. [41]

What else is there to say about the anime? Well, it has been confirmed that the anime series will be split into two seasons, starting with the first one [42]. Quite surprisingly, Lara will be voiced by Hayley Atwell in the English dub, who is known for playing the role of Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe [7] [13]. Speaking of video game adaptions on Netflix, there might just be a satisfying conclusion to Sonic the Hedgehog’s most challenging adventure outside of his games in the third season of Sonic Prime [23]. It is likely that the anime series starring Lara Croft will be released in 2024, the same year when Hazbin Hotel will finally open and Littlest Pet Shop fans will rejoice for the grand return of the second generation of the franchise [5] [6] [18], thus never taking it for granted again [58]. It worked for the Bratz in honour of their 20th anniversary that was celebrated during the 25th anniversary of Tomb Raider, right [48] [49] [50] [53] [54]? During the wait for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft alongside the hype for Tomb Raider I-III Remastered [29] [41], let us relish in more excitements in the second half of 2023, including the seventh episode of the second season of Helluva Boss [3] [15], Super Mario Bros. Wonder [25] [56] [57], Disney’s Wish and an animated adaptation of Scott Pilgrim’s crazy quest to win the heart of Ramona Flowers titled “Scott Pilgrim Takes Off” [22] [45].

As much as I deeply appreciate a shout-out from Puss In Boots or Stolas of the Ars Goetia [32], I can already appreciate the efforts of an upcoming anime starring Lara Croft by its teaser [41]. Ray-San: What More To Expect In A Rayman Anime…Or Manga

Minasan, Kon’nichiwa! We all know the limbless wonder debuts back in the 1990s, the time of landlines, answering machines and no smartphones [17]. Four years ago, we have discussed how an anime series based on the Rayman franchise could excel [55] [56]. Moreover, I still wonder if the idea of a Rayman anime will eventually be taken into consideration. I know what some of you gamers are thinking. Seriously, Laura? Not many gamers give a sharknado about Rayman anymore [23]. Well, first of all, Rayman is yet to return as part of DLC for Mario & Rabbids: Sparks of Hope later this year [47]. Secondly, there are still some gamers who hold Rayman dearly in their hearts, even the French gamers who remember playing Les Dictées de Rayman [26] [33]. I also suspect that a Raymanmanga series will be a good alternative to a Rayman anime series, but there will be more about that later. As Mario and the Rabbids courageously strive in the Tower of Doooom [21], which power-up from Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc will you dress up in for this follow-up? Besides, now is the time to wish Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc a happy 20th anniversary [32].

Aside from how we wish Rayman 3 a happy 20th anniversary, we can wish the limbless wonder a bright and motivating future. [32]

Some say that he was nicer in Rayman 2, including Globox [32], but could there be hope for a fresh yet familiar fantasy to become a reality [55] [56]? [39]

Enough with the creepypastas because making the limbless hero likeable in a magical world of adventure is essential [14]. He ought to have courage and a strong sense of justice, despite occasional childishness, being the opposite of Scrappy from the 1930s cartoons he starred in [9]. Should Rayman wear a blue shirt for a new anime or manga series starring him, considering how he wore one instead of his usual purple shirt in the Japanese version of Rayman 2: The Great Escape [36] [55] [56]? Better yet, he could wear that snazzy adventurer’s attire he wore in Rayman Adventures at some point [30] [48]. Could Raynette from a flashback sequence in Rayman Origins return as a cynical ex-spouse yet to get used to his hair, leading him to some new character progression that had never been established before [38] [51]? Despite Rayman’s very little popularity in Japanese gaming, a top-notch personality for him in a Rayman anime or manga would let his likeability shine like any one of the seven chaos emeralds from the Sonic the Hedgehog series [55] [56]. Furthermore, an anime or manga Rayman would be a hundred times the man Raymond Alfonso from one of my poems will ever be [57].

Surely, Rayman will not gather any pirate’s treasure just for himself and gain a ton of weight in a new anime or manga [3]. I still stand by how it would be ethical to feature him with five fingers instead of four alongside remarkable anime eyes [55] [56]. [34]

And ummm…I think it would be best to not let him scare any children like this again. [27]

Could scrapped characters or characters from eventually cancelled adaptions be given a second chance? Simohne, a female member of Rayman’s species was originally going to appear in Rayman Raving Rabbids as his girlfriend [39]. Why not let her be the girlfriend of a twin sister for Rayman named “Rayla” instead for some adorable lesbian representation, along with some respectful black representation within Simohne’s portrayal? After all, yuri is quite a popular media genre involving lesbians in Japan [46]. Perhaps the four former circus freaks from the cancelled television series can return to make up for the story of their daring escape from The Great Rigatoni’s circus and adaption to a new life in Aeropolis that was cut short, even though it never aired in Japan, thus there was never a Japanese dub for the series [37]. Perhaps Monik could be one of the anime series’ antagonists with the motivation to ambush Rayman and Globox as she was meant to be Andre’s girlfriend in the scrapped version of Rayman Raving Rabbids [31]. Even though it would be nice to give characters from scrapped projects a second chance in new ones, the best decision would be reintroducing the current league of allies from Rayman Legends, including Barbara [48] [50].

Simonhe’s personality could be like the Barbie from Brooklyn if she was brought into action, even after getting scrapped alongside Monik in the 2000s [1] [2] [31]. [39]

Can you imagine if Lac-Mac, Betina, Cookie and Flips got the happily ever after they deserved, but never got, even though the fourth episode almost seemed like one? [37]

As an alternative to a Rayman anime, there can be a Rayman manga. Besides, there is a manga series based on various The Legend of Zelda games [52] [60]. The format of a Rayman manga would be quite like the promotional comic for Rayman 2: The Great Escapetitled “Hands Down!”, the only official Rayman comic that has ever been published besides its Japanese counterpart, but with some major differences [27] [29] [55] [56]. The pages of a manga may be colourless, but they are still richly detailed. Recently, I decided to tune into the first volume of the manga Your Name to see how it differs from the anime film adaption [15] [59], which partially led to me suggesting a Rayman manga. The pages of a Rayman manga may be monochrome but it can still be enlightening with some splendid effort put into the artwork and a coherent plot. It could be as humourous as the Ratchet & Clank manga [25], but it ought to have some new character depth like Your Name [15]. And of course, the cover will be in fabulous full colour, most likely with Rayman wearing a blue shirt and having an extra finger on each head, along with glossy anime eyes [55] [56]. Surely, it would be less costly to produce a Rayman manga series.

One of the manga-styled graphic novels based on Catherine had its own ending [7]. The other was set before the events of the game [6]. [7]

As faithful as the manga books based on The Legend of Zelda are [52] [60], the plot of a Rayman manga could be a brand new adventure co-starring Globox and a Teensie. Captain Pikachu’s Stardom Set To Sail In A New Pokémon Anime

Ever since Ash Ketchum’s dream of becoming a Pokémon World Champion came true [28], many Poké players have wondered what could be next in the ninth generation of the franchise. It turns out that the next big step in the anime series is to establish a whole new journey with two brand new characters. I believe that this is a wise creative decision as I do not see the point of continuing Ash’s journey, especially if he is not ever going to turn eleven [26] [37] [40]. However, the biggest concern would be the possibility of the anime series jumping the Magikarp for making the next season seem too different from the other anime seasons because of this decision. As an admirer of the Pokémon franchise who personally knows a few Poké players outside of social media and fondly remembers the days of My Pokémon Ranch [21], I am honoured to discuss my hopes for a new season of the Pokémon anime series introducing two new characters that will firstly air in Japan this April during the time my manicure is a vague reminder of Wayne Cramp from The Cramp Twins and Disgust from Inside Out [9] [19] [38] [42]. 

I adore the English theme song for Pokémon Ultimate Journeys [39]. Who knows how motivating the English theme song for the next anime season will be [1]? [9]

Ash’s Pikachu will be out of the spotlight in favour of a new one [27]. To provide some individuality for the forthcoming anime season, the new Pikachu wearing a captain’s cap ought to consist of a few notable personality differences, compared to Ash’s Pikachu and Pikachu Libre [18] [34]. An example of this could be a bigger appetite for adventure, especially across the Paldean seas. You can tell by his pose in the revealed artwork of him [27]. Moreover, how successful will he be in the battles he and his companion will participate in?

What can I say about Friede, Captain Pikachu’s companion [3] [27]? It has been confirmed that he will be a new Pokémon professor. Within a supporting role as a professor, he ought to be friendly and helpful, like Professor Oak who could also make an appearance in the forthcoming anime [10] [22]. Friede ought to not be as forgetful as him though [10]. As previously stated, he could be the captain of his own boat across the Paldean seas, which would explain why his Pikachu often wears a captain’s cap [8] [16]. I will admit that his character design vaguely reminds me of Storm the Albatross from the Sonic Riders series, yet I can see that he will be more intelligent and mature, compared to him [35]. Since Paldea is primarily inspired by the cultural influences of Spain [8], could Friede speak in a Spanish accent, much like Puss In Boots from the Shrek franchise and his two spin-off movies [29] [30] [31] [32] [33]? How will Friede be compared to all the other professors who have made an appearance throughout the series, along with Harry Goodman from Detective Pikachuand its live-action film adaption [15] [23]? Regardless of the comparisons, I can already see that he will be supportive of two other new characters on their journey [6] [11].

“He has the potential to be a wise professor.” I reply. [3]

The brand new protagonists of the forthcoming anime series are Liko and Roy [6] [11]. It is likely that they could have the same aspirations of Ash, being the best like no one ever was [1], but they ought to consist of notable traits that do not make them a carbon copy of him and Misty [25]. Aside from training the Pokémon they start with, I wonder which badges and ribbons could they earn. I also wonder what friendships they could develop with other new Pokémon trainers, along with a Nurse Joy and an Officer Jenny who are likely to receive another redesign each for the anime series set in Paldea [5] [7], as well as their rivalries with those who would be more competitive and less friendly. Can you Willow Pape from Kim Kardashian Hollywood being a Pokémon trainer [17]?! Liko and Roy could have potential to be decently portrayed new trainers with their trust in Captain Pikachu and Friede being valued along the way [6] [11] [27]. Want to write a follow-up to the infamous theory of Ash being in a coma [37]? Go ahead, creepypasta crusaders. Heck, I am a former creepypasta writer who is hyped for the rest of the second season of Helluva Boss [43] [44]. 

Liko and Roy could have what it takes to search far and wide for Pokémon to capture and train at gyms [1]. [6] [9] [11]

There ought to be an enlightening adaption of Paldea in the forthcoming anime season, the region that the ninth generation of the Pokémon franchise is set in [8] [16]. There also ought to be loveable portrayals of the newest Pokémon from Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violetin the anime co-starring Captain Pikachu, especially the three starters; Sprigatito, Quaxley and Fueoco [13] [36]. Oh! And did I mention that the Titan Pokémon ought to make an appearance too [12]? Perhaps there could also be some historical references to Hisui, the region that is basically an interpretation of Sinnoh set in the past during the events of Pokémon Legends: Arceus [4]. Aside from a stunning anime version of Paldea, there might as well be some small changes throughout Friede and Captain Pikachu’s adventure to make the anime stand out on its own whilst ensuring that it will still be faithful to the games, which has done quite a lot of times throughout the anime series’ history [2]. After all, there were several differences between Cuphead and The Cuphead Show, the animated series based on the game [41]. Even though our dear old schoolers still miss the simpler days of catching 151 Pokémon in Kanto [22], there is new potential set in Paldea in honour of proactivity in the ninth generation. 

Paldea is partially based on Spain, which makes it seem like a great place for a vacation [16]. Trust me, I know from experience. [8]

In conclusion, a brand new story after twenty-six years of Ash Ketchum’s long road to success has the potential to honour the success of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violetthis April with a new cast of main characters to not only provide some individuality but leave Ash’s journey at where it seemingly ended to prevent it from going stale [16] [28]. It will be quite difficult to get used to a new Pokémon anime series without Ash but let us not knock it until we tried watching it. But before a new adventure with Liko and Roy can begin [6] [9] [11], especially for new and younger Poké players, they, along with older and more experienced Poké players can tune into the second part of the official English dub of Pokémon Ultimate Journey on Netflix [26] [40]. It will not be long until our loyal Nintendo nerds can watch the final trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer and our dear DC comrades will serve justice in DC’s Justice League: Cosmic Chaos [14] [24]. As for the Pokémon anime series, more information about the chapter afterwards will be revealed soon before it airs in Japan, so stay tuned, Poké players [9]!
