Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft - An Anticipated Anime On Netflix This Autumn

The evening after the rise of “The Full Moon”, the sixteenth episode of Helluva Boss [26] [36], the date announcement trailer for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, otherwise known as the “Danger” trailer was discovered like a relic in a raided tomb [27] [41]. Almost a year ago, we were quite thrilled by the grittiness of the announcement trailer [59]. Previously this year, we re-experienced the trilogy of the iconic archaeologist’s adventures and she made a special guest appearance in Hero Wars: Alliance [18]. This Autumn, we will finally see her strive for survival and discoveries in a highly anticipated anime series divided into two seasons, starting with the first one [27] [41] [42]. In the meantime, Gundam knows how Ms. Croft felt when she made a special guest appearance in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile near the time the teaser trailer pumped up the hype [6] [9] [59]. Without further ado, I shall bear even more intensity with you as we take a closer look into the potential of the first season of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft beyond the days of the mostly tarnishing censorship spell being cast by 4kids Entertainment [10] [17] [24] [27] [41] [42] [49]. Yes, I am still rather overjoyed over an unintended prediction of mine from 2019 coming true [50] [51] [52] [53].
 

You are darn right this is a legend, “Danger” Trailer [42]! [41]

There is a variety of dangerous, yet adventurous quests Lara will go on throughout her journey [27] [41] [42], making the upcoming series seem highly faithful to what made the games praiseworthy in terms of gameplay and female empowerment in the first place [65]. This begins with a shot of Ms. Croft looking at the view of a temple followed by an intense moment of her sprinting across a trail of rocks in a pit of lava [27] [41] [42]. There is also a scene of her sky diving, quite like how Barbie does in the opening cutscene of Secret Agent Barbie and her crouching in what appears to be her stealth outfit [48], which is a vague reminder of Metal Gear Solid to me for some reason [63]. The series will take place after the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raider [46] [59], meaning that Ms. Croft will show that she has toughened up even more, leading to some classic Tomb Raider vibes [65], but chances are that she will express a few signs of Survivor’s guilt [19] [64], quite like how Alice Liddell does, along with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of her family perishing in a house fire in Alice: Madness Returns [2].

And yes, this outfit is also a vague reminder of Sly Cooper due to its colour palette [21] [29]. [27] [41]

Remember this moment from the teaser trailer [59]? You can tell that the tone and setting in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will be quite the opposite of the comedic aspects and colourful underworld surrealism of Helluva Boss [25] [27] [41] [42], most notably in the most recent episode titled “The Full Moon” as I consider its sex joke level about OVER NINE THOUSAND [12] [26]!!! No worries if you would prefer more light-hearted scenarios in anime though…or both [32]. [27] [41]

Aside from our English heroine confronting her destiny after a thief stole an artefact from Croft Manor [46] [47], there appear to be some supporting characters. There is a middle-aged male character who seems to be a mentor, much like how Conrad Roth was before his death in the first game in the Survivor timeline [43]. He tells her that danger is her friend, providing some similar method of encouragement that Roth did as he told her that she is a Croft [16]. The group of folks she runs towards across a sinking pathway appear to be a group of travellers…or survivors [27] [41] [42], including who appears to be Jonah Maiava, another close friend of Lara’s who appeared in the reboot and became quite an important character ever since [44]. He is later seen sliding across some gravel before taking a leap of fate over spike rocks with her [27] [41] [42]. Who knows when a new incarnation of Zip from the other two timelines will make his debut [46] [59]? It would be vital that the supporting roles provide some significance throughout Lara’s journey [27] [41] [42]. After all, identifying aspects of overall character development and how effective a supporting character’s purpose and personality are would be a lot more rational and constructive than crying “Woke!” at certain aspects of them [40] [57] [58] [62], right?

That looks fun! Do I get a turn? [27] [41]

I cannot get over how outstanding the animation is, especially how it enriches the action scenes shown throughout the date announcement trailer by the power of talent from Powerhouse Animation [23] [27] [41] [42] [59], considering it is an anime series, of course. The vibrance of the exterior of a temple at the beginning of the “Danger” trailer is quite comparable to the setting in the plays starring Kung Fu Peach in Princess Peach: Showtime! [27] [28] [41] [42]. There are quite a lot of effects that enhance the liveliness and realism, such as the bubbles from Lara’s fall into what appears to be a murky river and the shine on the edge of her rifle in another scene [27] [41] [42]. The peril is present, but there are no moments of blood and gore apart from a few marks on Croft’s arms and elegant face, which adds to the speculation of the anime series sticking to the standards of the Japanese version of Shadow of the Tomb Raider regarding violent and gruesome content [11] [59]. As previously mentioned, there is a small variety of outfits for Ms. Croft to wear, depending on the task aside from her main attire adapted from Shadow of the Tomb Raider [27] [41] [42] [59]. But as much as we adore the advanced artistry of anime, please show some support and compassion for all the animators who were affected by the troubling working conditions at certain anime studios in Japan [3] [60] [61].

Ooh la la! Here is some concept art for a formal dress Lara will wear at a fancy party scene from Legendary Pictures, the company that produced the series with the cooperation of Crystal Dynamics [23] [46]! I am not sure about wearing trainers with it unless it is for a certain stunt to be pulled. Speaking of female video game characters in different outfits, I still stand by how a DLC pack for Princess Peach: Showtime! can consist of some new pink variants of the costume Peach wears to save Sparkle Theatre [28] [30] [60] [61]. [46]

Once again, Lara’s character design in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft reminds me of Korra from The Legend of Korra [5] [59]. I strongly believe that she will be the brains, brawn and beauty in the first and second seasons of her own anime series [59], but just because we can support female empowerment in fiction [16] [28] [64] [65], does not mean we need to entirely disregard the strengths of male colleagues as Jonah is sure to maintain his value as a supporting character [37] [44]. [27] [41]

The first season of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is set to premiere on Netflix on the 10th of this October after over three years of all the hype for it [27] [41] [42] [46] [50] [51]. This also marks the twelfth anniversary of the launch of a 10th-anniversary line of Bratz dolls that were released in honour of the 10th anniversary of the Bratz franchise (even though it began in 2001 [56]) [8]. Speaking of anniversaries, the second season of the anime could be part of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Tomb Raider franchise if it were to premiere in 2026 [59], but who knows exactly when it will be marketed and released after the overall reception of the first season in late 2024 [27] [41]? The same is felt about the second season of Hazbin Hotel on Prime Video [54] [55]. In the meantime, we sinners dare to go on an apology tour in the VivziePop circles of Hell in the next episode of Helluva Boss later this month [25] [57] [58]. Furthermore, I bid you a Happy Pride Month in honour of equality and letting love be love as we stand with the LGBTQIA+ community [7] [13] [22] [31] [33] [35] [38], including the simmers who can relate to their own sims in same-sex relationships to a certain extent in their own copies of The Sims 2, The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 [4] [14] [15] [39].

It can be argued that Lara could be aroace due to her lack of sexual and romantic interest in the games [1] [65], despite that one love interest she had in her second live-action movie and the likeliness of her and Sam crushing on one another in the near future of the Survivor timeline [34] [45], but whether she is asexual or not [1], I shall root for her throughout the first season of her own anime series [27] [41] [42] [46] [59]. You go, girl! [27] [41]

What If Princess Peach Will Get Her Own Anime Series?

As a child, I loved playing as Princess Peach throughout her insanely emotional adventure known as “Super Princess Peach” on my pink Nintendo DS [48]. As an adult, I adore Princess Peach Showtime! for its simplistic but varied gameplay, vibrant graphics, creativity, and a big step-up for her character as proven by the abilities she has in each outfit as she strives to save Sparkle Theatre [1] [44]. The overall experience has helped her shine about as brightly as a total solar eclipse [6] [14] [16] [20] [22] [42]. Do you know what else could help her highness flourish beyond her damsel-in-distress days? An official anime series licensed by Nintendo! My predictions for an anime series starring Rayman fell flat on their faces after Ubisoft’s limbless hero became as M-rated as Conker the Squirrel but about five times more extreme in the first season of Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix [41] [93] [94] [95] [96], a French-American animated series aimed at adults [31] [33], but things ought to be tame and quite child-friendly when it comes to predicting how an anime series starring a peachy princess that could be the modern anime equivalent of the ‘90s manga known as “Otenba Peach-hime” [68]. The overall visual appeal of an anime starring the princess in the second half of the 2020s could be an upgrade of the art style in Peach no Daibōken!? [69] [74]. But as fantastic as the visual appeal of anime has been for years, there is hope that the overall working conditions in animation departments would currently be considered a noticeably big improvement, compared to what has led to many saddening exposures in the first place [9] [18] [37] [63]. As much as we admire the artistry of anime [36] [84] [85] [95] [96], please show some compassion and support to all the animators and so on who have put their hearts and soul into your favourite anime series, despite disheartening working conditions and wish them all the best [9] [18] [37] [63]. 

Those eyebrows of the Japanese version of Ratchet’s might return in an anime series taking place after the events of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart that can provide some further depth for Rivet and Kit [23] [61] [62] [91] [92]. Chances are that Rivet will prove that she is a lesbian and Kit will express signs of being aroace if the concept gets brought into action [32] [83]. [23]

But more importantly, please show some support to the artists and animators who must have been mentally drained from their duties at certain anime studios [9] [18] [37] [63]. The same goes for the animators who must have felt psychologically damaged as they worked on Sausage Party, along with the animators who could not bear the stress of working on Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse [11] [17]. A brand new animated series starring Princess Peach can always consist of a different style of extraordinary animation if there were to be much more easy-going working conditions in the animation department [9] [18] [37] [63]. Alternatively, a modern anime style can always be on the pages of a new manga based on Princess Peach: Showtime! as the modern equivalent of Otenba Peach-hime [44] [68]. [69]

I know what you might be thinking. Wouldn’t an anime series starring Princess Peach seem outdated if it were to be based on Princess Peach Showtime and released several years after its success and possibly the release of Nintendo’s next console that is currently referred to as the “Switch 2” [44] [65[? Well, if you ask me, the game deserves a sequel, just like how Super Mario Galaxy got a sequel simply titled “Super Mario Galaxy 2” during the Nintendo Wii era [45] [46]. Moreover, a sequel to Princess Peach: Showtime! for Nintendo’s next console that is speculated to be the successor to the Switch ought to add about one or two new transformations, such as a pirate outfit for sailing a stormy stage and a spacesuit for a brief new take on the Super Mario Galaxy duology [45] [46]. Hopefully, the successor to the Nintendo Switch will provide some backwards compatibility, making Princess Peach Showtime!, Super Mario Odyssey and so on completely compatible for treasured memory’s sake [44] [47]. If not, there ought to be an enhanced port of Princess Peach Showtime! with some new features. It worked for Catherine: Full Body [15], right? A new anime series starring Princess Peach can be divided into two seasons; the first being based on one of my nominations for “One of The Best Games of 2024” and the second being based on a direct sequel to it [44]. 

And yes, the effort to enhance a port for a successor also worked for New Super Mario Bros. Wii U Deluxe [43]. As for a seemingly unnecessary but possibly effective sequel [44], another new transformation for Peach on her second rise to stage saving could be a painter. Imagine Peachette making an appearance for a new multiplayer mode [43]! [70]

It is speculated that the next big console from Nintendo will be launched next year or two [65]. In the meantime, let us continue to treasure the memories we have with the Switch from early 2017 to now [44] [47]. Besides, the Switch port of Sticky Business is now available nearly a year after the release and success of the PC port [24] [53]. [52]

It can be argued that an anime series based on the Legend of Zelda games is needed more due to the acclaim of the Legend of Zelda manga series [101]. Nonetheless, there is some potential to elevate Princess Peach’s empowerment even further in her own anime series. The same applies to a reboot of Angela Anaconda that ought to be established as a web series eventually [7] [87] [88], just like Helluva Boss and eventually, Lackadaisy [12] [13] [38] [39] [89] [90]. It is speculated that a direct sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be released around the time McDonald’s will sell Krispy Kreme doughnuts [40] [97] [98], so we shall at least have that to look forward to if there may not be an anime series starring Peach after all. In the meantime, the first anniversary of Barbie: The Movie will be marked a month after an outdoor screening of the funny and fashionable feminist film at the Botanical Gardena in Birmingham [5] [8]. Even though characters like Barbie and Princess Peach can prove that flourishing in femininity does not affect strength [5] [44], feel free to stay fearless in honour of the year of Shadow the Hedgehog if you wish to stick to your masculine side [64] [80], especially if you feel like you are just Ken [5] [82].

Also this July, another collaboration between Hello Kitty and Tamagotchi will commence after our fellow kitties reflect on the Sanrio crew’s collaboration with Yu-Gi-Oh at McDonald’s that is about as quirky as the collaboration promoting Princess Peach: Showtime! at Kung Fu Tea [3] [26] [34] [66]. Moreover, the adorable Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nano will finally be released in Japan and re-released in North America with some new features this August [75]. [3]

As some cosplayers continue to think outside the box [54] [55] [56] [57], Nintendo nerds continue to applaud the outcome of Princess Peach Showtime! [44]. Let us continue to support positive portrayals of women in video games, along with women’s rights in real life [10]. In honour of Barbie’s 65th anniversary [86], which is also the 60th anniversary of Skipper’s debut [4], you can be anything [97] [98]. And do not forget to keep wishing Kitty White a happy 50th anniversary too [30]! Lastly, I wish the talented Margot Robbie all the best when it comes to producing a film based on Monopoly, along with a film based on The Sims [21] [81]. [71]
